01 Does Ledger store data on its cloud servers?

No. Everything is stored on your device. Ledger has no backend to send anything to.

02 Will my data persist if I use and delete Ledger?

No — your data is lost on uninstall. It lives only in the app's local database, so removing the app removes the data with it.

03 Android blocks SMS permissions for Ledger. Is this safe?

Yes, it's safe. The Play Protect warning appears because the app is installed from an unknown source, not because of anything the app does. Ledger will be available on the Play Store in the coming time.

04 How do I grant the SMS permission when Play Protect blocks it?

Once you dismiss the permission dialog inside Ledger, go to Settings → Apps → Ledger, tap the three-dot menu, choose Allow restricted settings, then open Permissions → SMS and allow it.
